Keeping the coffee hot!

Keeping the coffee hot!

I have seen beautiful felted tea cozies, but a coffee cozy I hadn't seen yet. So, my friend and I got busy with wool, hot water and soap. Each of us created a coffee cosy. One with earthy natural colours and another one with warm firery colours, to keep the coffee hot! We had a great time, chatting and being creative.
Here you can see the outcome!

Colours like fire!

All Day Spinning and Natural Dyeing Workshop

Spinning wheel
Spinning and natural dyeing of sheep’s wool are skills that have been practiced for thousands of years. We still practice them here in GalGael and are happy to teach you how to do them! The kind of plants we will use, were already used in ancient times to colour cloth.

The aim of this workshop is to teach the basic skills from raw sheep’s wool to a hand spun & natural dyed yarn.

Some of the things you will learn about are:
• carding the wool with hand carders & drum carder;
• spinning with drop spindle and spinning wheel;

• natural dyeing with plants;
